Milan Mandaric believes that togetherness can aid the Wednesday cause, writes Paul Thompson.
The chairman is confident that the spirit of the players and management and the fervour of the fans will see the club achieve Championship safety.
“It is a nervous time for all us, and I feel for our supporters,” Mandaric told The Star.
“We have all experienced a very difficult season; now it is most important that all of us stick together and give the team support, and we get out of this situation and look towards a brighter future.
“We have to be strong; the players are up for it. The management is confident. It is a time for strong characters. It is not the first time that our supporters have shown that their support and love for this club is immeasurable. That really is a huge plus.
“I wish we were more excited about being at the top and getting huge crowds and heading in a different direction. It is a crazy time for us, and for a lot of other people.”
He admitted: “If we go down it would be difficult but I am not thinking that way. When I see the attitude and confidence of the players, I know we can get out of this dreadful time we are experiencing.”
