Fulham have turned down a £10million bid from Sheffield Wednesday for striker Ross McCormack.

The Cottagers used their parachute money to pay in the region of £11milion to sign the Scotland forward from Leeds last summer following their relegation from the Barclays Premier League.

Fulham moved to fend off apparent interest from top flight clubs and Championship challengers by giving the 29 year old a one-year contract extension until the summer of 2019, but PA Sport have reported that Wednesday are undeterred by that.

Wednesday have already spent close to £10m on new recruits, with 14 new faces coming to Hillsborough so far, including two new arrivals yesterday in Fernando Forestieri and Daniel Pudil from Watford.
