SHEFFIELD Wednesday are in capable hands with Milan Mandaric in charge, says Gary Madine.
The striker believes that the Owls can launch a strong challenge in the Championship next season.
Madine is also inspired by the example set by Norwich and Southampton, who each won two successive promotions.
“We’ve seen Norwich and Southampton go straight from League One to the Championship and then the Premier League; I don’t see why we can’t do it,” Wednesday’s top scorer told The Star.
“We have a chairman who knows what he’s doing.
“When we beat Sheffield United in the derby, everyone thought that had saved Gary Megson’s job; the chairman had the courage to do what he did, and it’s paid off.
“He’s got a few quid, and if he’s got a few quid we have a chance of going up again.”
Madine, who scored 18 goals this season, is thrilled by promotion: “It’s absolutely brilliant. We’re in the big league now. It’s what we have worked for, for 10 months.
“I got the impression that some of our fans were nervous. But we were confident we would do it.”
The players report back for pre-season training on July 11 and the new season starts on August 18.
The fixtures will be published on June 18.
