Centre-back Tom Lees has called on Sheffield Wednesday to give something back to the fans when Charlton Athletic visit Hillsborough this afternoon.

Stuart Gray’s mid-table outfit have triumphed just once in eight attempts on their own turf in 2015.

Their poor results at Hillsborough have arguably cost them the chance of being involved in the promotion mix over the final weeks of the Championship campaign.

The Owls have collected just 22 points from 20 home fixtures, hitting just 13 goals.

Three of Wednesday’s remaining five matches are in their own backyard and Lees has stressed the importance of finding a winning formula at home.

He told The Star: “The fans have not really had much joy at Hillsborough this season.

We know we owe the fans and have three really big games at home left which give us a chance to try and give something back to them for sticking with us.

“There has never really been a surge of goals or home points. It has been frustrating.

“We have not scored or picked up as many points as we would have liked. You want to be good at home and for teams to fear coming to play you but that’s not the way it has been.

“Luckily we have been good on our travels.

“But we know we owe the fans and have three really big games at home left which give us a chance to try and give something back to them for sticking with us.”

Tickets have been slashed around the ground versus Charlton. Adults are priced at £10 and £5 concessions.
