Kieran Lee has challenged his Owls teammates to keep their impressive run of form going as they look to close the gap on the Championship top-six.

The midfielder scooped the man of the match award in yesterday's 1-1 televised draw with Hull City at Hillsborough.

The result stretched Wednesday's unbeaten run to six matches and just three points adrift of the sixth-placed Tigers.

Lee, speaking to Sky Sports, said: "The aim is to challenge for promotion. We are on a good run of form and we have got to keep it going.

"We have got some tough fixtures coming up in the next few games but we have got momentum. If we can keep it going, you never."

Former Manchester United trainee Lee felt he should have been awarded a penalty in the first half after going down under a challenge by Michael Dawson.

"I thought it was a push but I haven't seen it back," he said. "I was off balance and about to shoot but I thought it was a penalty. You've got to accept the referee's decision."

Lee said the result was a fair reflection of an absorbing contest.

"We had a few chances in the first half after they started well and could have maybe been 2-0 up at half-time," he said. "But fair play to them in the second half as they put us under pressure and a draw was probably a fair result."
