Owls head coach Stuart Gray admits he is worried by their Hillsborough form.

Monday’s defeat to Charlton Athletic in the fifth round of the FA Cup means Sheffield Wednesday have lost three on the spin in their own backyard.

Gray told The Star: “It [Wednesday’s home form] is a big concern. In the Derby game, we thought we were a bit unlucky not to get a result out of that and possibly against Wigan. We competed in those games for the 90 minutes but we didn’t do that against Charlton.”

Giles Coke is a doubt ahead of Saturday’s home meeting with Middlesbrough. The midfielder sustained a wrist injury against Charlton.

“We have to get back to the basics,” said Gray, who was disappointed with Wednesday’s defending for Charlton’s winning goal. “We need to run hard, work hard, close teams down and make them make errors. That’s what Charlton did to us and we couldn’t handle it.”

Lewis Buxton played the full match yesterday as Owls development side drew 2-2 at Coventry City. Jermaine Johnson also got 70 minutes under his belt. Youngsters Khalil Lambin and Mani Dieseruvwe were on target.
