Sheffield Wednesday forward Fernando Forestieri's December heroics have seen the Owls ace nominated for the Championship's Player of the Month Award.

Forestieri scored five goals in six games for Wednesday, including two against Birmingham and another brace against Wolves - both at Hillsborough.

The 25 year old goes up against Middlesbrough's Adam Clayton, Derby County's Tom Ince and Nottingham Forest's Matt Mills for the award.

Nominees for the Manager of the Month prize are Leeds United's Steve Evans, Boro boss Aitor Karanka, Brentford's Dean Smith and Ipswich Town's Mick McCarthy.
