IF DAVE Jones is to hang on to his job, some Sheffield Wednesday supporters feel the club have to pick up a healthy points total from their next two matches.

The beleaguered Owls, who have lost six Championship matches on the trot, entertain fellow strugglers Bristol City at Hillsborough on Saturday before a trip to fourth-from-bottom Barnsley.

Wiseowl posted on Twitter: “Nothing but a win against Bristol City will do. A defeat would surely be #taxiforjones.”

TomBuckle1 added: “They need to win both for Jones to keep his job. Far too many terrible signings.”

TomScott1 echoed those sentiments, saying: “Bristol city and Barnsley will define Jones’ time here at the club.”

Joshbunting is also worried about their form but is confident Jones is the right man to arrest their slump in fortunes.

But he added: “I just think Dave got his recruitment wrong in the summer; signed the wrong players with funds we had available.”

PaulGSewell, however, says Jones should be axed.
