Sheffield Wednesday have been handed a double boost ahead of their crunch clash with Middlesbrough on Saturday.
David Prutton has been given an all-clear after having to miss the Peterborough game, and Jeremy Helan is shaking off the deadleg that forced him to go off last Saturday.
Manager Dave Jones also hopes for good news from Jermaine and Reda Johnson but says it is too early to tell whether or not they will be fit.
Jones revealed that Prutton, a big midfield influence in the club’s revival in the second half of the season, was ruled out last week by a fitness issue, which has not been disclosed.
“David had a problem in training on the Thursday before the game, and we couldn’t risk him,” said the manager. “He’s now got the all-clear.
“Probably there was a risk in playing Jeremy but we got what we could out of him. I would think he’ll be ok for Saturday.”
A fully fit Helan would help to compensate for the reduction in the team’s pace cause by the absence of Michail Antonio and JJ.
