Sheffield Wednesday outcast Darryl Lachman has joined Dutch side Willem II on a season-long loan.

The defender has yet to make a senior appearance for Wednesday since arriving last summer and spent the second half of last season on loan at SC Canbuur, making 15 appearances.

With Lachman's contract set to expire next summer, he is likely to leave Hillsborough without ever making a first team appearance for the club.

He has missed out on the opportunity to make his Willem II debut against Dutch giants Ajax on Saturday due to a paperwork issue.

he 26-year-old arrived at Wednesday last summer from FC Twente. At the time it was reported a number of English clubs were interested in the Curacao international.

Earlier this summer he was informed he was not part of Carlos Carvalhal's plans, along with Claude Dielna and Sergiu Bus.

Lachman departs Wednesday as former loanee Vincent Sasso returns to the club on a permanent deal.
