Development coach Lee Bullen slammed his Owls youngsters after Huddersfield Town cruised to a convincing 4-1 win in their Under-21 Professional Development League Division 2 North clash.
In front of chairman Milan Mandaric and chief executive Paul Aldridge, Paul Corry put the Owls ahead in the 40th minute at Hillsborough only for Harry Bunn to level things up just before half-time.
Duane Holmes, Jordan Sinnott (penalty) and Chris Atkinson were on target in a one-sided second half.
Bullen said: “It was not good enough. I’m looking at it mainly from the aspect of the Under-21 lads. I think they all let themselves down today. They have been well beaten.
“Don’t get me wrong, Huddersfield are top of the league and are unbeaten so we knew it would be tough. But they showed a lot more hunger and desire in the second half than we did.”
