Michail Antonio wants the Owls to follow the example of last season as they bid to haul themselves out of trouble.

The Wednesday winger believes that the team are capable of emulating the December victories at Bolton and Barnsley that helped to spark their 2012-13 revival.

With the same two clubs providing the opposition in the next two games, he told The Star: “We always think we can do it again.

“It doesn’t matter who we’re playing. Bolton have just managed to get their first win, so they’ll be up for it on Saturday, but so are we.

“Every game we go into, we have belief that we can win it - and hopefully Saturday will bring an end to our run without a win.”

He retains the view that Wednesday have not done much wrong but have paid for lapses in concentration at vital moments.

“Training has been good during the international break; Saturday is an opportunity to really get our season going,” he added.

Antonio won a table tennis challenge match after training yesterday.
