CHRIS O’Grady is confident the Owls have come through their sticky patch and are back on track after a dip in form in League One.

Gary Megson’s men are level points on with second-placed Huddersfield Town following their 3-1 triumph at Scunthorpe United.

Before the trip to Glanford Park, Wednesday had picked up just four points from three consecutive home matches.

Powerful striker O’Grady, who bagged two of the three goals at Scunthorpe, hopes the midweek win proves a turning point in their season.

He said: “It means a lot to be in touch with second place because we haven’t had a good month by our standards - yet we’re still in touch with second. With what we can achieve when we do get back on course, we should be okay.”

When asked if the players felt the pressure to win at Scunthorpe to keep up with their rivals, O’Grady said: “Not really. We just wanted to win. It’s a bit depressing when you’re not winning. We should have won on Saturday; that’s the general feeling; over the last month we have been winning games until the last 10 minutes then throwing it away.

“It was nice to start a game well then win convincingly.”

O’Grady opened the scoring against the Iron after 45 seconds. He admitted it was a ‘massive frustration’ not to claim his first hat-trick in Owls colours but said: “I’m happy with my form; I want to score a few goals and I’ve done that. To get two is nice. It would have been nicer to get the hat-trick. There were a few opportunities to do so but I can’t complain. I’m pleased to get two, and a win capped it all off.”

Of O’Grady’s contribution, Megson said: “It was his best game for us. He’s had some really good games. As a centre forward you’re judged on goals, but it wasn’t just his goals: he did ever so well.”

Apologies to Deisel. I am confused though? Manor Blade, really an owl? Thought you were a Blade with a sense of humour. Oh well. I can only console myself with the fact that I didn't get upset. Love and bum hugs to all. Gayer than Wales I am! Xxx

Why don't you concentrate on the Blades fans then. I've heard Marshall is off to Leicester

Matt Ritchie is a young un from Swindon who has scored a shed load of goals from midfield, something like 34 goals in 124 starts for teams like Portsmouth, Daggenham on loan Notts County on loan and Swindon. He hasscored 8 goals this season and provided 7 assists, so he is definitely an attacking midfielder. The only problem we would have would be who to leave out! Got to fly dude or they will think I am after over time. Good talking to you, good night.

Afternoon Fed Up - hey new topic, dont know much about any Bodde, sounds like a decent player in his past, but has he played at all in the last 3 years?

fed up owl, I dare say our top brass could set up a deal along those lines. Lets face it, we took Marshall on after he had only played one pre season friendly since breaking his leg & he added some much needed quality to the squad. If we did sign this Bodde on loan, we would have to draw up a pre contract agreement just in case he does turn out to be on the mend. I wont get my hopes up though, because the midfielder that I had heard good reports about, Matt Ritchie, went and missed a penalty on Saturday! UTFO!
