STEPHEN Bywater insists that the Owls must give a whole-hearted display at Blackpool today for the sake of their fans.
The keeper feels that the team cannot afford to let their attention wander to next Tuesday’s big league game at MK Dons and risk disappointing a 2,200 away following at Bloomfield Road.
“We want to do well in the FA Cup. Our away support is massive. We don’t want to go there and let anyone down,” said Bywater.
“You go there to do your best and try to provide a good show for the fans and yourself.
“You don’t want to go there half-hearted, otherwise you’ll get turned over then you’ll end up embarrassed and thinking ‘what a waste of a day’.
“You don’t want the fans to make a long journey to Blackpool and get disappointed. So it’s a priority for me. Every game is a priority. If it’s a reserve game you do things right.
“Blackpool have some quality but it’s the FA Cup and anything can happen.
“We could win if we go there with the right attitude. We’re a good team, strong and well organised.”
He is set to play his first game for Wednesday in the competition. Derby refused permission for him to play while he was on loan from them but his free transfer clears the way.

Banter is great but derogatory name calling surely isnt what this site is for (puts oneself in the fireing line). Cant agree more with Sheffield's No.1 Keeper, they could have turned up and delivered a performance which cheated ALL the paying fans that have spent their money to go and watch and could have lost 4-0. But they didnt, they put in a shift that earns respect and persuades Owls fans to carry on backing their team in their thousands hence why SWFC are the best supported team in not only Sheffield but League 1 Home & Away.
