Owls go for plan Bee
Wednesday target: Midfielder Ferrie Bodde
MARK Beevers is challenging for his first start for the the Owls in five months at Blackpool tomorrow as Gary Megson hails the versatility of his squad.
The defender is a contender at centre-half or left-back after making a comeback in the latter spot as a sub in the 3-1 win at Scunthorpe after Daniel Jones was carried off.
“Mark went in and did really well; we have players who accept that they may have to play out of position and don’t use it as an excuse,” said Megson.
The Owls boss must change his defence line-up because centre-back Miguel Llera is cup-tied and left-back Jones is ruled out. Beevers’ chances of starting also depend on fitness checks on Rob Jones, Reda Johnson and Julian Bennett.
Megson added: “If Mark plays, he’s got an opportunity. If it isn’t long-standing then he’s got the opportunity to go and show what he can do elsewhere.
“It was an emergency thing for Mark on Tuesday; he did it for an hour and did it very well.”
One of Beevers’ two starts this season - before he had a loan spell at MK Dons - was against Blackpool in the Carling Cup.
Megson has confirmed an interest in Premier League Swansea midfielder Ferrie Bodde. Any move would probably be a loan, with the Owls planning talks with the Swans

Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 12:02 PMThe only worry I think the Owls and any other team have when they are going for promotion and are having a run in the Cup is the risk of injuries I remember many years ago we played Arsenal five times in the 3rd round of the Cup, Hillsborough, Highbury, and three times at Filbert Street I went to all five games. WE eventually lost but by them our smallish squad were completely whackedf

Friday, January 27, 2012 at 03:56 PMAftenoon Andswurf. I know the FA Cup not priority, but would be nice to win, its a good habit to get into, and the chance of a plumb draw next round. Also good to have a good competitive run out for some of those players not getting a regular start.
