SHEFFIELD Wednesday could yet end up in an end of season relegation battle after losing 1-0 at home to fellow strugglers Nottingham County, writes Digital Editor Graham Walker.
It’s the type of home game they need to win to climb free of the drop zone.
But they failed to convert their chances and a penalty cost them the game.
Wednesday’s Mark Beevers conceded it, for a foul on Alan Gow - who stepped up to the job and smashed home the winner for County in the 27th minute.
It handed the visitors a vital three points and moved them into 17th - one place a point behind Wednesday.
The Owls remain just seven points clear of the drop zone and still have a fight on their hands to avoid the unthinkable - relegation into League Two, the old Fourth Divison.
