SHEFFIELD Wednesday manager Gary Megson is tracking Reading winger Michail Antonio.
The Hillsborough boss has also been strongly linked with Blackpool centre half Miguel Llera.
But he has denied claims that he is chasing Bolton striker Robbie Blake.
Antonio and Llera - who is a friend and former Charlton team-mate of Wednesday midfielder Jose Semedo - recently played against the Owls while on loan with Colchester and Brentford respectively.
Antonio went back to Reading recently after two months with the U’s but Llera is on a three-month deal and remains with the Bees until December 7.
“We were knocked back over Antonio,” Megson admitted. “His partner is having a baby and he wanted to stay where he is now, and he wanted to fight for his place, but we’ll see what happens in the New Year.”
It is believed that the Owls chief would also like to add Llera to his squad on loan.
But Megson did confirm that Blake is a non-starter, contrary to reports.
“There’s absolutely nothing in it,” he said. “There’s an agent who’s working to get players to Wednesday all the time.
“We have a full quota of forwards, Gary Madine, Chris O’Grady, Ryan Lowe and Clinton Morrison.
“I don’t want to be rude, and Robbie has been a good player, but he’s 35 and it’s not something I would be wanting to do.
“We are looking for a couple of players to complement what we’ve got, but not in that position.”
