SHEFFIELD Wednesday chairman Milan Mandaric has admitted the club are interested in signing midfield pair Jason Koumas and Michael McIndoe.
Former Wales international Koumas is a free agent following his departure from Wigan Athletic this summer while winger McIndoe is also on Owls manager Gary Megson’s wanted list.
Talented midfield playmaker Koumas, who spent last season on-loan with Cardiff City, has also been linked with a switch to Ipswich Town. Aged 31, Koumas would command a big salary, having played the majority of his career in the top two divisions.
To land veteran wide man McIndoe, who left Coventry City at the end of last season, Wednesday may have to beat off competition from Huddersfield, Town Doncaster Rovers and Barnsley to secure the 31-year-old’s signature. The club are also in the hunt for Tractor Boys striker Jason Scotland.
“It will be Gary Megson’s call because he has a relationship with those players and it would take some convincing to come to us rather than stay in the Championship,” Mandaric said.
