RELEASED defender Richard Hinds could end up playing against the Owls next season.
He is being targeted by several clubs and says that League One will be exciting and will showcase some big games in 2011-12.
Appearing to hint that he may be switching to another club at this level, he told The Star: “I’m happy with the progress that I’m making. There’s been a lot of interest. I’m very pleased with that
“It’s just a matter of taking a bit of time and talking things through and seeing what’s going to be right for me. Things are good for me at the moment.
“I’m hoping that there will be some exciting games in this division next season. It’s always something I have in mind. It would be nice to stay in it.
“The main thing is playing football, regardless of the level I’m at.
“It would be nice to play against Wednesday. Whether that happens or not, we’ll have to wait and see.”
Hinds was told by the Owls that his contract would not be renewed when it runs out at the end of June.
It has ended a four-year spell at Hillsborough for the 30-year-old who comes from Killamarsh and is a Wednesday fan.
He has fulfilled an ambition by playing for the Owls: “I’m disappointed to be leaving, because I love the club, but I’m also excited about the new opportunities ahead.
“I’ve done what any Wednesday fan would want to do. I’ve played for the club, and I’m really lucky to have achieved that.
“I think I’ve performed well. I can look back with fond memories.
“I always gave 100 per cent. I wish the club all the best and hope they get promoted.
“But if I play against them I’ll be trying to beat them.
“It’s time to move on and take advantage of new challenges.”
