REDA Johnson has accused MK Dons boss Karl Robinson of putting his hands around his throat during a touchline flashpoint in last night’s 1-1 draw.

The manager was sent off after the incident with the Sheffield Wednesday defender.

Owls boss Gary Megson said: “I have spoken to Reda and he says their manager had his hands on his throat. You don’t touch players, you certainly don’t touch mine.”

Megson regards the draw against promotion rivals MK Dons as two points lost although the Owls moved up to third place in the League One table.

He said that his team had enough chances and possession to have taken maximum points which would have ensured that they would have moved above Huddersfield into second place. He said: “We were terrific. We bossed it from start to finish. We both had one shot in the first half. We were really unfortunate with their’s when it hit the bar and went in off Stephen Bywater. We knew they would be struggling with set pieces all the way through so we had to be direct at times and in the second half we had seven chances. They hadn’t had any and they hardly got out of their half in the second half.”

The Owls’ equaliser was an own goal by defender Gary MacKenzie.

Megson also said that the Owls should have had a penalty in the first half for a challenge on Reda Johnson and one after half time for an offence against Chris O’Grady. The Owls’ chief confirmed that captain Rob Jones was not injured though he was left out of the side. Megson also said: “Our cutting edge wasn’t there for the amount of possession we had.”

The Owls are understood to have matched Leicester’s offer to Stoke for Ben Marshall. Although the player enjoyed his time at Hillsborough he could not turn down the opportunity of Championship football. Leicester are believed to have paid £750,000 plus £250,000 in possible add-ons linked to appearances and promotion.

@39....come on EPNS... the fire sale is on, but no one wants to buy your over paid dross... Why would anybody take some of these 'high earners' and get an average player? TBH, I am glad no one has left.. it means the debt mounts daily... tick - tock

You're a fine one to talk Dick'ead, Wilson moaned when the massive lost to Charlton and motre recently when Birmingham reserves beat your full strength team. Lnd Rd Blunt Wilson said you shouldn't have lost to Charlton and you had more than enough chances to score but er you had just the one shot there as well!!!! Well look at that the Owls don't win and CanadaThicko comes out of the woodwork, shame he didn't do the same when they got hammered by Birmingham, even though Wilson said you were the best team...... LOL. I agree with you Banter. I'm happy with the point. Wow Canada even posted twice..... you can tell the blunts haven't played and lost other wise he'd not be on.

Just seen the REDA & ROBINSON incident on Look North, what an embarrassment. Reda Johnson went down easier than a cheap inflatable pig. Thought he was supposed to be a ''big man'', scandalous, hope they throw the book at him!!!!

i think historically we have always been a bit hesitant over new players coming remember Cantona? why it continues to this day is beyond me it seems short sighted in some ways but then we are debt free and for all our sakes we need it to stay that way. in megson we trust wtid

Fair enough Flotter. I reckon both sides of town have fans that need to be realistic about the stature and means of their beloved clubs. Both are skint but both need to get up at least one division to have any chance of a decent future. The future is not that bright at all for either set of fans. I will alwys remain optimisitic that things will change for the better though. Xxx

Banter B Canada plank stated he would rather lose 4-0 than have no shoots on goal. I would rather have no shoot on goal and get a piont. Than lose 4-0. I agree I'm happy with a piont. Epically getting a piont there.

Neither team had ONE shot on target last night ( BBC stats) hardly "bossing it" It's one thing to have possession, but we need goals to win matches. If we had been serious about Marshall, we wouldn't have dithered over his price. 750K would have been money well spent. We are 2nd, have a decent squad and every chance of going up, yet I feel we should have strengthened in midfield, and out wide. We seem to lack creativity, clinical finishing and width, that extra bit of quality and talent that makes you confident about promotion.

Banter Blade, we are holding our massive (big?) heads up mate, but some fans at all clubs are a bit bipolar & really believe that they are the best club one minute & the worst club the next. You have to look at the bigger picture which usually involves looking back into history unless you have a crystal ball that actually works. Looking at the bigger picture for Wednesday, we have some fans who have elevated Mr Mandaric to the status of a saint, which when he took over the club I think pretty much everybody agreed with. However since then, he has made promises to the fans & I pointed at the start of this season, some of the promises he made in the programme just before season tickets came on sale last year. I have a very good memory for these things because I have heard the words & seen the deeds many times before. The only chairman I can remember who promised little & delivered plenty was Bert Mcgee. He signed a certain player that our manager was after who made a massive impact at Hillsborough &was instrumental in our promotion. UTFO!

Who said they would rather lose 4-0 than get a point. Which of the voices in your head are you listening to today Owls 20? I reckon you should be happy with your point. I will be expecting us to beat MK when we play them but will not be hoping we get beat instead of nicking a point if that's the way it goes. I think the Marshall thing needs forgetting about now. You've let yourselves beleive that there was some money to spend when there never was. It's okay, Bournemouth and Crawley will never be as big as Wednesday no matter how much they spend on players. Keep your massive chins up lads. The derby game is fast approaching! Xxx
