LOAN star Ben Marshall wants to stay with Wednesday into the New Year and aid their bid for promotion.
The winger is due to go back to Stoke in January but is enjoying life at Hillsborough and would like his loan to be extended.
“Getting promotion to the Championship would be good,” he said. “I think, before my loan is up, we’re going to have to sit down and see what my options are. I’m enjoying it and hopefully I can carry it on.”
Owls boss Gary Megson said it was too early to make plans for post-January but he is delighted with Marshall’s impact.
“He’s only young (20). He can play either side, has great control and crosses a good ball; he just needs some more experience,” he said.
Marshall, who is building up his match fitness after recovering from a broken leg, ultimately wants to be back in the plans of Stoke boss Tony Pulis: “I’ve had chats with him.
“He wants me to get some games, rather than just sitting on the bench or not doing anything. The way he was talking, hopefully in the future I’ll be in his plans.”
Meanwhile, Owls coach Andy Rhodes has been found guilty of improper conduct during the Yeovil game.
He has been fined £1,000 and warned.
Today’s rival boss, Chesterfield’s John Sheridan, has admitted an improper conduct charge.
It arises from his sending-off at Charlton for protesting about a decision.
He has asked for a personal hearing.
