BEN Marshall’s proposed fresh loan deal has yet to be sealed by the Owls and Stoke, Gary Megson said today.
Wednesday are having to wait until discussions between the winger and Stoke over a new contract have been finalised.
But his current loan stay at Hillsborough runs until January 15.
Stoke manager Tony Pulis has said he wants Marshall to remain at Hillsborough for the rest of the season and the impression was given that a new Britannia Stadium had already been agreed with the forward.
Megson also reported a fresh doubt about Nicky Weaver amid preparations for the match at Preston on Saturday.
The keeper who missed the 2-1 defeat at Walsall with a tooth abscess suffered a spasm in his back after a few minures of training today. Megson hopes the problem will settle down quickly.
Lewis Buxton (hamstring) is “getting very close” to full fitness, said the Owls boss, but it is not yet known exactly when he and Gary Madine (broken toe) will be back.
Megson confirmed that Mark Beevers will return from his loan at MK Dons after Saturday and will not be going anywhere else.
