BURY winger Mike Jones has signed a two and a half year deal at Sheffield Wednesday today.
Jones was out of contract in the summer and Bury have agreed to sell him - possibly for as much as £100,000 - after an approach from their League One rivals.
The 6ft former Tranmere man has established himself as a key member of the side since arriving in north Manchester in the summer of 2008 and played a key role in their promotion from League Two, last term.
The club confirmed his arrival at S6 and the 24-year-old will be eligible for the Owls’ League 1 home game with Charlton Athletic at Hillsborough on Saturday.
Frustrated fans at Gigg Lane believe the fast, direct Jones to be their most potent player.
He will replace James O’Connor, who has gone to Orlando City, USA, and James Tavernier, who has gone back to Newcastle United.
