OWLS striker Gary Madine has been charged with improper conduct by the FA.
The game’s governing body said in a statement this afternoon that the charge related to an incident after his sending-off at Carlisle on Tuesday. No details have been given.
The 21-year-old forward has until 6pm tomorrow (Frid) to respond to the charge.
Madine appeared to briefly confront referee Paul Tierney and speak angrily to him after being shown a second yellow card followed by the red.
His reaction could be the reason for the charge.
He is also said to have spoken to some hostile members of the Cumbrian crowd on his way off the pitch and later had a public fall out with a fan on Twitter, writing: “useless fans! Needed the man in black 2 get u the win. Enjoy mid table peace out.” The remarks were later deleted.
Madine is already suspend for one game, Saturday’s match at Wycombe, but if found guilty of misconduct will face a further suspension or fine or both.
