SHEFFIELD Wednesday today announced that Danny Batth’s loan has been extended to the end of the season.
Agreement has been reached with his club, Wolves, with the Owls keen to keep the defender who has been a big hit in their promotion campaign and had a successful spell with them in 2010-11.
The 21-year-old said: “I’m delighted. I was here at the back end of last season and the first half of this season so I’ve managed to be around while the team has developed, and I think I’ve played a good part in that, so to extend the deal is something I’m happy about.
“I think there are things we can work on but we are going well. We are in a good position at the moment in the league and as a group we look like we are getting stronger every day.
“We are keeping everything as consistent as ever in preparation for the Christmas period and just focusing on ourselves and what we’re doing to keep our run going.”
Wolves say Batth will be watched by their backroom team as he continues to gain experience in the League.
Owls manager Gary Megson also hopes to keep on-loan Stoke winger Ben Marshall and bring back keeper Stephen Bywater, whose loan from Derby ended last Saturday.
