FORMER Sheffield Wednesday striker Paulo Di Canio could miss out on landing the managerial job at Swindon Town - because of his political beliefs.

The controversial Italian, who is keen to move into management, has openly declared himself a fascist and was renowned for a straight-arm Roman salute to fans as a player.

Di Canio, now working as a pundit in his homeland, is keen to move into management but his political leanings have enraged some of the Swindon fans.

Indeed, one sponsor has stated their intent to end their association with the Robins if Di Canio is appointed.
