HULL CITY boss Steve Bruce says he is pleased to have bragging rights over the division’s other Yorkshire sides ahead of his team’s meeting with Blackpool as the Tigers see out 2012 in second place in The Championship.
Leeds United, Huddersfield Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley are all lower down the rankings, with Hull’s seven-game unbeaten run ensured by the 2-0 defeat of Neil Warnock’s side at weekend.
“I’ve been in the game too long to get carried away, but going into the new year as the top team in Yorkshire is terrific for the people of Hull,” Bruce, the former Sheffield Unite manager, said. “I am delighted they have something to crow about because we are out on a limb over here.”
Hull are five points behind leaders Cardiff City.
