Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Keiren Westwood has signed a new deal that will keep him at Hillsborough until 2018.
The Republic of Ireland international stopper joined the Owls from Sunderland last summer, signing a two year contract and has agreed an extension to that deal.
Westwood had been linked with a move to the Premier League after some stunning displays for Wednesday during a season in which he was voted Player of the Year, massively contributing to the team equaling the record for the number of clean sheets in a season.
The 30 year old has missed the last few games after suffering injury in the 2-1 defeat to Ipswich. However, with the international break coming up this weekend, it is expected that Westwood will be back in contention for a place in the side for the next game, against Burnley at Turf Moor on September 12.
