Barry Bannan says he is not overly concerned with Sheffield Wednesday’s recent habit of finding themselves under pressure late in games.
The Owls appeared to be on course for comfortable wins over Fulham, Brentford and Preston North End over the last month.
And while they hung on for wins in each game, there were a few nervy moments in all three when it appeared as though victory would be wrestled from their grasp.
While Bannan admits the matches could have been seen out more comfortably, he says not much time will be sent dwelling on past matches.
“We could have been more comfortable in the games and we probably should have been,” Bannan told the Star.
“I know we’ve missed chances to put the game out of sight. That happens.
“But you’re always going to have periods in games when the opposition are going to have a good go at you. Very few teams just roll over.
“We’ve been unfortunate in that it’s come late on in games recently so we’ve ended up with a nervy finish.
“It’s not something we’re too concerned about really.
“We’ve won those games, we’ve come through them and we’ve kept going on this really good run that we’re currently on.
“We’ve also shown our resilience under pressure. We know that we’ve got a very solid defence and we’re showing that.”
