A DEFIANT Michael Doyle is adamant Sheffield United can cope without talented attacking duo Billy Clarke and Matt Phillips.

The pair re-join parent club Blackpool following the expiration of their loan deals at Bramall Lane. Both Clarke and Phillips have starred at United, adding an extra dimension to manager Danny Wilson’s forward line.

Wilson is set to hold talks with Ian Holloway, his counterpart at Blackpool, in the coming weeks over re-signing Clarke on Phillips on loan but Doyle insisted: “We have a big squad and I’m sure there are people waiting for a chance to come in and play.

“The manager has probably got something up his sleeve so we will just have to wait and see what he decides to do. I’m sure everyone is ready and hoping to play because it (Oxford) is another big game for us.

“We know we need to get another win under our belts and try to get a bit of form before the league starts again.”
