United, leading from Chris Basham's early opener, were rocked when Basham was sent off for a challenge on Neal Bishop.

United went 2-1 down to the League One leaders before Billy Sharp's penalty rescued a point.

And Wilder said: "It was a scrappy game and when it's like that, you have to dig in and get something.

"We passed the ball well in the last three or four games but couldn't find our rhythm here and had to produce other qualities.

"We showed that at the end when four or five players put their bodies on the line to block a shot. And the reaction of the fans a team the end showed they appreciate that, too.

"We have to play better, we understand that, but sometimes you have to stick in and grind it out. And we did that today."
