Phil Parkinson believes his side were on the wrong end of two big decisions in their 2-0 defeat at Sheffield United this afternoon.

Parkinson, whose side were beaten by Billy Sharp's brace, felt that John Fleck should have been sent off for a challenge on Tom Thorpe and that Mike Dean's decision to award a penalty for David Wheater's challenge on Samir Carruthers was incorrect.

"In the first half, Fleck poleaxed Tom in the middle of the pitch and if that's not a sending off, I don't know what is," Parkinson said.

"If that's a Premier League, I think he'd have walked. I've seen it back and Tom's in a bad way, so that's two big decisions that went against us. But in the second half, we didn't show enough quality."

Parkinson added: "The penalty was a clear dive. We thought it at the time, and the lad [Carruthers] has bought the penalty."
