Diego De Girolamo and Conor Dimaio have been named in the Sheffield United squad which visits Fulham in the FA Cup tonight, manager Nigel Clough has confirmed.

The youngsters travelled to the capital yesterday as Clough, whose side will reach the last 16 of the competition if they beat Rene Meulensteen’s team, attempts to strike a balance between winning the fourth round replay and ensuring players are fresh for this weekend’s League One encounter with Shrewsbury Town.

“Diego and Conor are coming with us,” Clough confirmed. “It’s a good opportunity for them and you never know what might happen.

“Yes we have one eye on the weekend but anyone who comes in and does well if they get an opportunity can further their own claims. They certainly won’t do themselves any harm.”
