Sheffield United tipped to take JPT

Sheffield United are 6/1 joint favourites at BetVictor for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy after the win at Hartlepool.

Leyton Orient (9/1 for the JPT after their Derby success over Dagenham midweek) are the visitors to Bramall Lane on Saturday and the O’s are unbeaten on the road this season so there is no room for complacency despite United having already won at the Matchroom Stadium last month.

Kevin Nugent got his first win as Orient boss midweek and they are a handful on the break. Their current League position suggests this is a game the Blades should win but the visitors have picked up nine of their ten League points away from home.

After the loss to Chesterfield last weekend Nigel Clough will be anxious not to lose further ground and the Blades are 6/5 keep the points with the O’s 9/4 and the draw 12/5. United remain 8/1 for the title, 2/1 for promotion and 1⁄2 for a top six finish which will ensure the minimum of a play-off spot.

The game of the day in League One is at Ashton Gate where Chesterfield travel to unbeaten table-toppers Bristol City. Steve Cotterill has always been highly regarded as a coach/manager and his side are four points clear at the top of the table. Expect goals; both sides have found the back of the net in City’s last three games whilst both sides have scored in Chesterfield’s last five. It’s 8/13 for both sides to net.

Bristol City are 2/1 favourites for the League One Title and this really would be a feather in the Spireites cap if they were to lower the colours of the hosts at Ashton Gate. Chesterfield won’t be 25/1 for the Title if they picked up all three points at the weekend that’s for sure.

England are only 14/1 to beat San Marino 10-0 at Wembley on Thursday night as Euro 2016 qualification grips the nation. Seriously has there ever been a competitive England international with so little interest?

Wayne Rooney is 5/2 to open the scoring with Danny Welbeck 3s and Raheem Sterling 9/2. The 2nd half is the highest scoring half at 8/11 and that looks an attractive price given the opposition look sure to tire despite the fact that the Three Lions could take their foot off the gas with Sunday’s trip to Estonia in mind.
