SHEFFIELD UNITED were held by the local side in a friendly at Paola, Malta, tonight.
They played out a goalless game against Hibernians.
United, who strolled to a 6-0 win over Zejtun Corinthians on Monday, found they had nothing like the freedom to attack against a much more sophisticated opposition.
The Blades beat Hibernians 2-1 last close season but were kept at bay for the most part this evening.
But there was some good news for Unitedites.
Meanwhile popular midfielder Kevin McDonald, 23, has committed to the club after signing a new two year deal at Bramall Lane.
He said he had taken his time but had made “the right decision.”
