Che Adams bounced back from his disciplinary issue at Sheffield United to score the only goal of the game for the under 21s today.
The attacking midfielder was left out of the United side for the trip to Burton Albion on Tuesday night with boss Nigel Adkins saying: “Che was not involved because, from my point of view, he chose to deselect himself over the weekend.
"It’s a minor thing but he needs to learn from it and I’m sure he has. We’ll keep it ‘in-house’ because it’s about educating players and them understanding what we expect from professionals. Maybe, over the weekend, he’s not quite lived up to that.”
As a result, Adams was placed in the under 21s team and scored in a 1-0 victory away to Wolves.
The 19 year old had come off the bench to make a return to first team action on Saturday against Doncaster Rovers, following a spell out through illness.
The England under 20 international is expected to be considered by Adkins for Saturday's League One game at Port Vale.
