CHRIS Porter is poised to join Shrewsbury Town on loan after Sheffield United signed Dominic Poleon.
Poleon, 19, joined Danny Wilson’s side until the end of the season following talks with parent club Leeds yesterday.
However, the paperwork required to process the move won’t be completed until later this week to ensure the striker is eligible for the League One play-offs should United finish third, fourth, fifth or sixth.
Poleon’s arrival, combined with compliance with Salary Cost measures, means Porter will be allowed to leave United on a temporary basis. Town are poised to sign the former Oldham centre-forward for a month.
Wilson, speaking after last night’s 2-0 win at Bury, said: “Dominic is coming in and Chris will go out. Dominic’s paperwork will be completed at the weekend.” Poleon scored three goals in seven appearances at Gigg Lane this term.
Porter has found first team opportunities hard to come by. Several League Two clubs, including Fleetwood, tried to acquire his services.
