DANNY Wilson, the Sheffield United manager, has revealed the process of identifying transfer targets is already under way.
Despite postponing negotiations with those members of his squad whose contracts are about to expire until after today’s League One play-off final against Huddersfield Town, Wilson acknowledged preparing for Wembley has not been the only work undertaken at Shirecliffe of late.
“Plans are ongoing,” he said. “We have a lot of deals up and decisions will have to be made.
“We will wait until next week. We will put them on hold until we know what’s going to happen.
“We are very much in front of ourselves in terms of targets.
“We know we will have to move quickly (because of the play-offs) but sometimes you can move too quickly and it’s not the right decision.
Wilson, who as The Star reported earlier this week has expressed an interest in Hearts captain Marius Zaliukas, added: “It’s been a great season irrespective of what happens (against Town) but we want to finish it off.
“There’s been some great football and behind the scenes a lot of hard work.
“It’s not been an easy season with things going on but we have managed to keep our focus, which has been vital.”
