Whoever succeeds Nigel Clough as manager of Sheffield United will become the club’s eighth boss in just eight years.

The sacking of Clough on Monday saw the continuation of the relatively turbulent period for the Blades hotseat, following Neil Warnock’s departure in May 2007.
Since that time, seven men have come and gone, all failing to emulate Warnock’s success despite several near-misses.
Those seven men totalled a combined 2,823 days in charge of United, just 101 days more than Warnock’s own spell lasted.
