Sheffield United have confirmed supporters will be offered free coach travel to next month’s FA Cup fourth round replay at Fulham.
The decision was announced by Bramall Lane officials yesterday following Sunday’s 1-1 draw between the two teams in South Yorkshire.
Speaking ahead of their visit to west London on February 4, a United spokesperson said: “This is a way of repaying our fans for their backing throughout the season.
“Both the players and staff have all remarked how that has helped them get results against Premier League opposition, not only at the weekend but also when we went to Aston Villa in the previous round.”
“We’ve been away from home in three of the last four rounds,” the spokesperson continued. “There were long journeys to Colchester and Cambridge but they still turned out in their numbers.
“We came up with the idea to try and say ‘thank-you’ for that because we realise this is a very difficult and financially challenging time of year for lots of people.”
Tickets for the game against Rene Meulensteen’s side, priced £15 (adults), £10 (seniors and concessions) and £5 (under-16’s) went on sale to season pass holders, supporters club and superdraw members yesterday. Any remaining tickets will be placed on general sale later this week.
Five pairs of wheelchair/carer tickets are also available. The fixture, which kicks-off at 8pm, is all-ticket for visiting fans.
