Bob Harris and Matt Hill have won their battles against injury, Sheffield United manager Nigel Clough has revealed.
The defenders, both absent since last month’s visit to Preston North End, are set to be included in the squad which hosts Leyton Orient this afternoon.
Clough said: “Bob and Matt are available to us. They’ve both had a good week of training and were involved in our final session before the match.
“Now it’s just a case of waiting to see if there is any reaction. We’re not anticipating that will be the case.”
Harris (thigh) and Hill (hamstring) had both been warned they must prove their fitness ahead of next weekend’s FA Cup semi-final against Hull City in order to be considered for selection at Wembley.
With United preparing to play their 16th fixture following February 1st’s defeat at Crewe Alexandra, their return also eases the pressure on a back four also bolstered by the return of Harry Maguire from suspension.
“There are few carrying slight niggles,” Clough said. “So we might have a bit more room for manoeuvre.”
