PROMOTION-CHASING Sheffield United have signed two new defenders this afternoon to ease their defensive crisis.
Matt Hill has joined the Bramall Lane club on loan from Blackpool until the end of the season while young Sunderland centre-back John Egan has also arrived on a temporary basis.
The vastly-experienced Hill, who has previously played for Barnsley, has fallen down in the pecking order at Bloomfield Road, featuring just five times this season. He can operate at centre-back or left-back while Egan, aged 19, was recently named the Republic of Ireland’s Young Player of the Year and has captained Sunderland’s reserve side. He will initially stay with Danny Wilson’s side for 28 days.
Both Hill and Egan could make their debuts at Walsall tonight.
