Nigel Adkins says the door has not been closed on Bob Harris at Sheffield United - despite the defender joining Fleetwood Town on loan for the rest of the season.
The 28-year-old has joined Fleetwood after making only seven appearances for United this season, largely due to injury.
But boss Adkins says he will monitor Harris' progress on the coast over the next month and could activate a recall clause in the deal.
Explaining Harris' departure, Adkins said: "He needs games. He's played about five for us in the league all season and this is an opportunity for him to get some in League One.
"The recall means we might have an opportunity to review things after four or five games.
"We'll see. We'll see how it goes."
