Notts County defender Dean Leacock has insisted his side will travel to Sheffield United tomorrow with no fear.

To mark the kick-off of the Football League’s 125th anniversary celebrations, United entertain the Magpies, the world’s oldest Football League club, in the first fixture of the 2013/14 season.

Leacock, the County skipper, reckons David Weir’s men will be “one of the top teams” in League One this season.

But buoyed by the Magpies finishing in the top half of the division last term, Leacock thinks the side can cause an upset at Bramall Lane in front of the Sky cameras.

“We’re all looking forward to it and they’ll be one of the teams that will be up there this season so it will be good to test ourselves against them,” he said. “We’ll go there with no fear and I think that if the lads are on it and every player’s up for it, there’s no reason why we can’t get three points.”

County, managed by Chris Kiwomya, finished 12th in the competition last term, drawing 1-1 twice with United.
