David Weir says ‘responsibility’ will be the watchword of his Sheffield United regime.
Weir, who took charge of the League One club 10 days ago, will repeat the message when its first team squad begin pre-season training next week.
“I take responsibility for what happens here because I’m the manager,” he told The Star. “But it’s also important as a player that you also take responsibility for yourself.
“That’s the type of attitude, combined with hard work, I want.”
United, who Scunthorpe claim are tracking winger Mark Duffy, have also expressed an interest in Febian Brandy according to Walsall manager Dean Smith.
Brandy, whose contract at the Banks’s Stadium is set to expire, has yet to agree fresh terms and, unlike his team mate Will Grigg, would not command a compensation payment.
Duffy is also being monitored by Doncaster Rovers, Brentford and MK Dons according to sources at Glanford Park.
