SHEFFIELD United manager Danny Wilson last night predicted Shaun Miller is destined for a bright future despite failing to win a starting place at Bramall Lane.
Miller, a summer signing from Crewe Alexandra, has made only five appearances for the South Yorkshire club since leaving Gresty Road three months ago.
But Wilson, speaking ahead of tomorrow’s League One fixture at Leyton Orient, said: “We always maintained that Shaun is one for the future. We’ll need him as we go along without a shadow of a doubt.
“We’ve got a lot of quality options in attack here and Shaun is among them.
“The one thing we won’t be doing is getting caught out like we did last time.”
Wilson, of course, was referring to May’s play-off final defeat when circumstances both on and off the pitch combined to derail United’s promotion challenge.
“Shaun has got terrific finishing ability,” Wilson added. “Who knows, this could well be the game when we throw him in?”
United climbed to sixth in the table - five points ahead of Orient in 12th - when they continued their unbeaten start to the new season by beating Hartlepool on Tuesday.
“We’ve got a few bumps and bruises but nothing too serious,” Wilson said.
“We’ll be travelling down to London the day before the match and doing some training on the way.
“Hopefully everyone should be okay because this (Orient) will be a big test.”
