SHEFFIELD United reserves hope to secure the Central Division title when they entertain Nottingham Forest at Shirecliffe today.
Chris Morgan’s squad enter this afternoon’s meeting with their Midlands rivals three points ahead of second-placed Derby County with only one game left to play.
United, who boast a superior goal difference to County, are hoping to record a sixth straight win following last month’s triumph over Port Vale and Morgan said: “This is my first season of coaching and I’ve really enjoyed working with such a committed group of players.
“There’s been a good blend of young lads looking to push their way through the ranks and older more experienced professionals who have also benefited from getting minutes under their belt.
“There’s been a really strong mix and everyone has helped each other out.”
Jordan Chappell, Joe Ironside and Danny Philliskirk were all on target as United dispatched Vale 3-0 three weeks ago.
County complete their campaign when Stoke City visit Christchurch Meadow tomorrow.
Morgan added: “If we do go on and win the league then, in my opinion, it will be what these lads deserve.
“It will also be very good for their overall development because there are some exceptionally good teams in this competition like Stoke, Derby and Forest.”
