Nigel Clough does not believe his team will be hampered by their unexpected break in the League One fixture schedule.
The Sheffield United manager was speaking ahead of today’s game against Rochdale after last weekend’s meeting with MK Dons was postponed due to international call-ups.
Clough, whose side are unbeaten in four outings, said: “Judging by the way the lads have performed in training this week, we want to continue like we did at West Ham and Preston which were by far our two best performances of the season.
“Training has been good and competitive. Tackles going in without being silly and people injuring their team-mates.”
United followed their Capital One Cup success at the Boleyn Ground with a draw at Deepdale last month and Clough added: “Training has been about re-enforcing the good things we did at West Ham and at Preston. Those two performances, for large parts of the game, is how we want to play.”
