Nigel Clough, delighted that his Sheffield United side bounced back at Crawley after their winning run had been ended last Saturday, has challenged his men to put together another winning run.

“We’ll just carry on trying to win games and see where it takes us,” said the Blades boss. “That’s all we want to do. That’s the focus.”

“We’ve got the 50 points and that’s important. We’re closer to the top six than the bottom four, so that’s a nice feeling.

“When you consider where the lads were not so long ago and where they are now, I think that tells you a lot about the work they’ve been putting in. Credit to them for that but it’s got to continue. We’re sure it will.”

Harry Maguire misses out at at Swindon on Saturday and at home to Brentford next Tuesday due to a two match ban.

With likely deputies Matt Hill and Terry Kennedy injured, Clough could consider switching John Brayford. Today is deadline day for loan signings. Five are allowed in a matchday squad and they already have five.

Stevenage at home is now Good Friday, April 18 (7.45) and the trip to Port Vale comes forward a day to Friday, April 25.
