Sheffield United have made a bid for Millwall defender Byron Webster.
The centre-half, who played against the South Yorkshire club last weekend, features on Chris Wilder’s wanted list as he looks to strengthen his squad ahead of the forthcoming transfer window.
Although United refused to comment on the matter earlier today, sources in London have told The Star that Webster was the subject of an offer before Saturday’s match at The Den.
The 29-year-old, who signed a new contract during the close season, started his career with York City before arriving in London via Doncaster Rovers and Northampton Town.
Wigan Athletic’s Ryan Colclough has also been linked with United as Wilder steps-up his search for a goalscoring midfielder. Colclough, previously of Crewe Alexandra, joined the Lancastrians in January.
